Virginia Veterinary – where
every pet matters
Virginia Veterinary is a general veterinary practice founded on a deep commitment to animal wellbeing and compassionate respect for staff and clients.
We’ve spent over 10 years caring for dogs, cats and other pets, while guiding their owners to create the best possible lives for the furry members of their family.
Our Commitment
Good animal health relies on more than your pet. It relies on the relationship between owner and veterinary staff to give your pet what it needs to thrive.
We’re committed to honest, genuine relationships between staff and clients, where everyone is respected to work in the best interest of our furry patients.

Meet the Team
Meet Dr Jo Bromley (BVSc)
– founder and director of Virginia Veterinary
Dr Jo’s passion for animal care stems from growing up on a farm
with a variety of animals she cared for with her family. It took some
time after school to realise that animals were her calling, returning
to university as a mature student to study Veterinary Science at
Charles Sturt University and graduating in 2015.
“Every case I see, I learn from. Animals always keep you thinking on
your feet.”

Values

Respect is a shared responsibility
Your pet’s health is an interconnected web between our staff, pets and their owners. Mutual respect means we can all work together to get the best outcomes.

We care about four-legged and two-legged family
Pet ownership is an emotional rollercoaster. While our job is your pet’s health, we also have care and empathy for their human owners – a safe space in good and hard times.

Always learning, always growing
Every patient teaches us new things. No matter how experienced we might be, we are learning every day.

Listen to understand
An owner always knows their pet best. We value and respect the human animal bond by respecting you to advocate on behalf of your pet.

We have each others’ backs
A whole is always more than the sum of its parts. Through respectful collaboration and support we can get the best result for everyone.

Sophie’s Legacy – vets are human, too
Dr Sophie Putland was only 33 when she took her life, after industry pressures and client abuse became too much.
Tragically, Sophie’s story is not uncommon. On average, a vet dies by suicide every 12 weeks – four times more than the general population.
Sophie’s Legacy is a national education campaign that asks pet and animal owners to take the pledge to be kind and respectful and to understand the massive pressures impacting veterinary staff.
