Walking beside you on the
pet ownership journey
Pet ownership is an incredibly rewarding journey. But along with the joy comes inevitable headaches and heartaches. From their first days in the world to a peaceful ending, we’re here for you every moment.
We view pet health as an interconnected web between us, you, and your pets. One where we respect the human-animal bond, where our care and empathy extends beyond our patient to you as an owner.
A relationship where we share the responsibility to work together respectfully, working hard to get the best outcome for you and your pet.
“I have a level of faith in Jo from Virginia Veterinary that I’ve never had in any other vet clinic. Her experience and understanding makes it possible to do the rescue work that we do.”
Gloria Lindenbauer, Lucky Little Paws Rescue and Adoption

Happy Clients
“Never before have we had a vet that goes over and above the way Virginia Veterinary does. Other vets care, but they are next level.”

Although the current risk to us is low, we need to make sure we are doing our part to keep it that way. Please follow some basic guidelines if you are bringing wildlife into the clinic: 🐔
- Inform us ahead of time so we can have staff available to take appropriate precautions
- To minimize handling by you and staff, please keep contained in a carrier, towel or box. Use gloves where possible
- If you see anything suspicious please report it to authorities

🐝 Bee stings - aka flying spicy sky raisins. 🐝
As the weather warms up, curious pups are more likely to chase and become curious about insects (including bees!) A bee sting can be painful and in some cases cause serious allergic reactions.
Common signs of a bee sting include:
- Sudden yelping or pawing at face
- Swelling around the muzzle, lips or paws
- Redness and discomfort
- Excessive licking of the affected area
‼️ Seek veterinary attention immediately if your dog shows:
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe facial swelling
- Collapse or weakness
- Vomiting or diarrhoea after a sting
If you suspect your dog has been stung by a bee, keep calm and seek advice from your veterinarian. Do not give any human medications unless the vet directs you. 🐾 ... See MoreSee Less
